Loris Quantock
“33 degrees South, 151 degrees East is the geographical location where I collected the sticks I used to create this artwork. They are ordinary sticks when I first pick them up but once assembled, they become intriguingly ambiguous. The sticks were collected on walks through areas of Sydney’s bushland that hold special significance for me. Like the walks, assembling the sticks is a meditative process. The finished piece becomes a record of the walk; a documentation of a time, a place and an experience.”
