Belinda Haag is an accomplished multi-disciplinary artist working across jewellery, painting and sculpture.
“After completing my Fine Arts Degree (majors in Australian Art and Film Studies), and working in various theatres, I travelled the world – a journey that lasted 30 years. Exploring cultures and their histories, I was inspired to make, exhibit and sell my pieces along the way.
I have always loved storytelling, and the myriad of ways these stories are told through artistic expression – theatre, music, dance, art and especially through jewellery. Each piece I make is a unique narrative composed of gathered materials sourced over many years and many places. I design and hand weave each piece before the components are assembled.
I’m currently exploring the weaving of worlds through the combination of intricate beadwork and gifts from nature that I find. I also love the freedom of painting – to explore a larger and more physical form of expression.”
